He strongly believes in treating every patient as a unique individual. Treatments are always tailored to a patient’s expectations and goals.
Dr. Kim chose to work at OSF HealthCare because he wanted to join a team that focuses exclusively on patient care and has a supportive staff with the same goals. Joining this local community reminds him of living in Chicago where the patient population is diverse in culture, ethnicity and background.
“During an appointment, I take the time to listen and answer questions in a manner that is easily understandable,” he said. “There is no greater calling in life than helping those in need, and I found my passion in operating on patients who require medical assistance.”
Dr. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, but moved to Chicago when he was eight years old. He is married and has two sons. During his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and golf.
Areas of expertise: Robotic surgery, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, GI tract surgery, including cancers, inflammatory bowel disease and anorectal issues.
