Family circumstances played a big role in Tami's career path. She was inspired to become a nurse by her time as caregiver for a family member with terminal brain cancer. And having children of her own drew her to pediatrics.
"I love children's kind hearts and free spirits," Tami said. She likes for appointments with her to be energetic and fun, but also full of compassion.
Tami and her husband, Fery, have four children: an eldest in college, twins in high school and youngest in primary school. Supporting and attending their activities – which run the gamut from jazz band to team sports – keep the parents "very busy." They also have three dogs.
A lifelong resident of the Peoria area, Tami likes the friendliness and warm familiarity of her community. She and her husband also like to travel. Their favorite sites: the beach and Chicago.
