I enjoy caring for women throughout every stage of their life. I like empowering women through education so they can make informed decisions about their health.
Dr. Cozianu-Cotan was born and raised in Iasi, a city in eastern Romania. She moved to the United States after finishing medical school to do breast cancer nutrition and prevention research at Purdue University in Indiana before going on to a gynecology residency in New York City.
She has always wanted to be a doctor, so she can impact the lives of others in a meaningful way.
"Being a doctor has been my calling and an enormous blessing at the same time," she said. "I love interacting with my patients, hearing their life stories and helping them make informed decisions.
"Obstetrics and gynecology fits my soul perfectly! I like that I can be part of one of the most precious moments of a woman's life – giving birth and transitioning into motherhood. I also enjoy taking care of adolescents and women going into menopause and handling the preventive aspect of obstetrics and gynecology."
When she's not at work, she spends her time with her husband and daughter. She likes to craft jewelry, read biographies, exercise and travel to new places.
