A native Peorian, Timir was born at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in the fall of 1976.

His time spent at the OSF Saint Francis Emergency Room during a college summer internship greatly influenced his decision to become a physician.  “I was inspired by the emergency room physicians who dedicated their lives to helping others during a time of great need,” says Timir. This experience allowed him to witness, first-hand, the impact that physicians can have on the lives of patients and their families.  

Cardiology and electrophysiology are of specific interest to Dr. Baman because he can see how medical and technological advancements are making a difference in his patient’s lives.   “Just 10 years ago, patients were forced to live a decreased quality of life due to abnormal heart rhythms.   Now, we have the ability to treat and cure these abnormalities, thus greatly increasing patients’ quality of life,” he states.

Besides his clinical work, Timir is also the founder of Project My Heart – Your Heart Pacemaker Reutilization Program. This is a collaborative program between citizens, physicians, and funeral directors of the State of Michigan, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center, and World Medical Relief, Inc. Project My Heart – Your Heart is a program designed to study the safety and effectiveness of reusing pacemakers in underserved countries for patients who do not have access to medical devices.

In addition to spending time with his wife and two children, Timir enjoys running, cooking and scuba diving.
