Valarie spent most of her nursing career in the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department before becoming a palliative care nurse practitioner. 

“I enjoy caring for my patients as well as being a support person for the family,” she said. “I treat my patients with respect because that’s how I would want my family to be treated.”

With more than 20 years of experience, Valarie believes working with a multidisciplinary team is the best way to care for patients and their families. 

“I love being able to provide pain relief, as well as help patients manage their symptoms, in an effort to improve the patient's quality of life,” she said.
