Dr. Harris chose to work at OSF HealthCare because she wanted to be part of a collaborative team that is part of a faith-based organization.

She chose a career in medicine, specifically psychiatry, to have a greater impact on all aspects of health. She says the mind is a mystery and she enjoys investigating new ways of caring for each patient’s mental wellness. Everyone presents in a way as unique as their personality. “It is rewarding to see people start with a presumed challenge and develop a knowledge of self to grow better habits for their mental health.”

Dr. Harris is prepared to listen diligently to the concerns of each patient.  She likes to know patients as individuals and understand what brings them to see her , but more importantly, how together they can foster better mental health for the patient and the lives they impact. Dr. Harris desires to create a plan that maximizes full mental wellness potential, starting with the brain and body connection.

Dr. Harris’ interest in caring for others began in early childhood. Her interest in mental health was later fostered through experiencing a friend going through a mental health crisis.

She desires to help people find a balance of mind and spirit. It is her lifelong journey to help people wherever they are on the path to peace of mind.
