Dr. Pavelko has always been passionate about helping others. Working at OSF HealthCare gave him the opportunity to do so on a larger scale. He is committed to innovation and medical technology. “During an appointment, I will take time to understand a patient’s concerns and diagnose them correctly,” he said. “Treating a patient means entering into a partnership. I always give my patients options and guide them through those choices.”
Dr. Pavelko is a fourth generation physician and always knew he would have a career in medicine. His grandfather was a general surgeon, and he would tell Dr. Pavelko stories about surgeries he performed, including technical details. Surgery is his greatest passion. After working with his mentor, world-renowned robotic surgeon Pier Giulianotti, Dr. Pavelko knew that robotic surgery was the future of surgery.
